Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hello all, I hope this finds you well. It's been a busy fall and it appears like it's going to be a busy winter as well, not that I'm complaining of course, I might whine a little but not complain.

Fall as it turns out seems to be the busiest time of year and as the business grows it seems to extend further and further into the year. I've had a couple inquires for Christmas pictures and a few leads on Spring pictures, I really hope they pan out. I'm also really excited about my first maternity shoot which is coming up in a couple of weeks. After that, I get to do a session with the newborn which is really awesome since no one knows the sex so we will all be surprised, regardless I will be ready either way.

Yesterday morning I was thinking about the weather and above mentioned newborn and how most of my sessions are natural light and outdoors. I'm certainly not taking that new little bundle of joy outside in January so I decided to make my last big purchase of the year and off to Amazon I went.

After doing a little shopping I should be well prepared  for anything that comes my way. I purchased a good sturdy tripod, some studio background stands, background material and an indoor lighting setup. Eventually I will get my exercise room cleaned up and converted into a studio and at that point I will be able to shoot comfortably year round.

In other big news we are planning a trip to Italy for my daughter's art class. The kids are required to raise money to help with the cost so this past Saturday I volunteered my time and talent and had a session with kids and Santa. With that fundraiser done I'm trying to come up with other fundraising ideas. Any thoughts dear readers? One thought I had was to sell 2020 Calendars that will have pictures from the trip, maybe each one personally signed by me (which isn't worth squat now but someday). My calendars usually run around $20 so as a fundraiser I would sell them for $40 to $50. Just think folks you could own your very own calendar containing the beauty of Italy, taken by this lil ol Montana boy. Most of the pictures on past calendars are at least 8x10 and very frame worthy. Just a thought, I'll toss it around and see if there is any interest.

I've also decided that I'm going to try to write a little something every week. It's not always going to be about photography it might be what's going on with me that particular week such as what workouts I did or how my diet is going. As a matter of fact I think I will post about the diet next week. I know we all have our struggles and since I haven't been able to run as of late a good diet is essential. Not being able to run is a whole other story.

If you have any thoughts or questions about what you would like to see from me just give me a shout and if you feel like it please subcribe, the more the merrier. Until next week Merry Christmas everyone.
