Hello, friends and welcome to a new week. I thought I would write something different this week that may also spark some other questions and conversation. Here are ten things you probably didn't know about me aside from being a total goofball. Let's go all the way back to the best year in recorded history 1968.
#1. I was born waaaayyyyy back in December of 1968 in Atlantic City, NJ and to this day my father-in-law swears I'm a little mafia baby. This may explain why I like to gamble and have always had a fascination with the mob. But to put all questions of my ethnicity to rest I'm actually French and Scandinavian which makes me a lover and a fighter but not Mafia.
#2. I was crowned the cutest boy in Brooklawn, NJ at the ripe old age of 3 or 4 I really can't remember. I just remember riding my Big Wheel decorated with the American flag in a parade and the picture of me holding a trophy that was as big as I was. Truth be told I was probably the only entrant.
#3. I moved to Montana in the Spring of 75 and we drove the whole way, four people crammed into an International Scout. Thank God my brother and I were small. It was a terrifying yet exciting trip through the mountains of Montana, especially after coming from sea level. The elevation was quite a shock to us all. Speaking of shocks I remember seeing Evil Knievel in my first 4th of July parade in my new hometown and I remember that it snowed during that parade, Springtime in the Rockies, welcome to Montana.
#4. My first radio was a little handheld that was in the shape of Superman and started my lifelong love of music. I still remember a couple of the popular songs that were on almost daily at the time, Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way Leo sayer Long Tall Glasses and still a favorite to this day, Elton John's Yellow Brick Road Thanks to friends and family I had a lot of musical influences in my formative years from Elvis and Olivia Newton-John to Kiss and Led Zeplan which probably explains why I love music in all forms to this day from love songs to Death metal. I even took drum lessons for a brief time.
#5. I am very artistic and as a child, I expressed it through drawing. I drew from grade school into college when unfortunately life became extremely busy and I put my paper and pencils away for far too many years. I loved Patrick Nagel and mimicked his work quite well. I also loved to draw heavy metal album art like Iron Maidens Eddie, Metallica and Guns and Roses.
#6. I have been working for the same Company full time since 1991, which is the same year I married my High School sweetheart and they both almost have me trained.
#7. I'm a Sagittarius - Strengths: Generous, idealistic, great sense of humor - True, True and True.
Weaknesses: Promises more than can deliver, very impatient, will say anything no matter how undiplomatic - Not True, Um somewhat true, True.
Sagittarius likes: Freedom, travel, philosophy, being outdoors - Yup Thrice
Sagittarius dislikes: Clingy people, being constrained, off-the-wall theories, details - I'm very detail oriented so that's a big NO
Curious and energetic, Sagittarius is one of the biggest travelers among all zodiac signs. Their open mind and philosophical view motivate them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life.
Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. Sagittarius-born is able to transform their thoughts into concrete actions and they will do anything to achieve their goals. Disclaimer (within the law)
Like the other fire signs, Sagittarius needs to be constantly in touch with the world to experience as much as possible. The ruling planet of Sagittarius is Jupiter, the largest planet of the zodiac. Their enthusiasm has no bounds, and therefore people born under the Sagittarius sign possess a great sense of humor and an intense curiosity.
Freedom is their greatest treasure because only then they can freely travel and explore different cultures and philosophies. Because of their honesty, Sagittarius-born is often impatient and tactless when they need to say or do something, so it's important to learn to express themselves in a tolerant and socially acceptable way. Yup pretty Much.
#8. My photography business was actually started in 2011 with a new position within the Company, a cell phone and a rekindling of my artistic side. Traveling all over the state with my job change allowed me to document through pictures all the beauty Montana had to offer. I started sharing on FB, upgraded my camera, and the view from Scott's office was born. It became official in 2013.
#9 Because of my success as a Landscape photographer, in 2016 I was asked to venture into portrait photography. This was a whole new animal and I had soooo much to learn. I've come a long way in the last couple of years and had a blast getting to where I'm at now. Not one to rest on my laurels I will always strive to be the best I can. My goals are very realistic, I just want to take over the photography world, at least in Montana.
#10 Last but not least, and I think all of you probably knew this already anyway, I truly appreciate each and every one of you who have taken the time to read my posts, liked my images, hired me to capture special times and events in your life and just supported me in one way or another for the past 5+ years. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for being here, I couldn't do what I do and do what I love without you. Here's to another great 5 and hopefully many many more.
