Welcome to 1982, this was the year I let my hair grow out like Scott Baio and gave myself my first tattoo with a pin and non-toxic ink. What else happened in 82? I'm glad you asked. Jump into the Delorean and let's take a trip back in time.
In 1982 Doctors performed the first implant of a permanent heart, Michael Jackson releases Thriller, the very first CD player was sold in Japan, Time magazines man of the year was the computer, EPCOT Center opened and commercial Whaling was ended.
The median price of a home was $67,800, average income was $21,050.0, gas was $0.91 cents, a bag of cheese puffs was $0.89 cents and a GMC 1500 Pickup was $5,400.
The hot movies were, E.T., Rocky 3, Porky's, An Officer and a Gentleman and Poltergeist. On TV we watched, Magnum, P.I., Dynasty, Falcon Crest and Knight Rider.
Now to make you feel really old, born this year was Kelly Clarkson and LeAnn Rimes.

#12 Centerfold - The J. Geils Band
John J. Geils formed the band in 1968. The band gained commercial success in the early 80's before breaking up in 85. Starting in 99 the band has several reunions prior to the death of John in 2017.
#11 Key Largo - Bertie Higgins
Elbert Higgins is an American singer, songwriter who had a hit album Just Another Day In Paradise. Key Largo was ranked #75 on VH1's Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 80's.
#10 heat Of The Moment - Asia
A progressive rock supergroup formed in 81 consisting of John Wetton (King Crimson), Steve Howe and Geoff Downes (Yes), and Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake, & Palmer.) Their debut album remains their best selling record to date.
# 9 Vacation - The Go-Go's
An American band formed in 78 in L.A. They rose to fame in the early 80's as an all female band that wrote their own songs and played their own instruments.
#8 Cool night, #7 65 Love Affair - Paul Davis
Paul Lavon Davis was known best for his solo career starting in 1970. He also had country hits as a guest vocalist on songs by Marie Osmond and Tanya Tucker.
#6 Jack & Diane - John Cougar
Johhny Cougar, John Cougar and John Cougar Mellencamp is an American musician. John has 22 top 40 hits in the U.S. and holds the record for the most tracks by a solo artist to hit #1 with 7.
#5 I Love Rock And Roll - Joan Jett
She is an American singer who is best known for leading the groupJoan Jett and the Black Hearts and forming and performing with the all-girl punk band the Runaways. She has been described as the Queen of Rock and the Godmother of Punk.
#4 Tainted love - Soft Cell
An English synthpop duo who became popular in the early 80's. They had 10 top 40 hits in the U.K. and have sold 10 million records world wide.

Edward Joseph Mahoney known as Eddie Money had success in the 70's and 80's with a string of top 40 hits and platinum albums.

An English new wave band formed in 80. The group had a string of international hits. The band won a Grammy in 83.
#1 867-5309/ Jenny - Tommy Tutone
A power Pop band best know for 867-5307 which peaked at #4 on the Billboard hot 100. The song became so popular that people still call the number to this day.
